God, my family and the Vazquez family, who have made their
beautiful "Majestic Mountain" home available to others. This
vacation for our extended family was to celebrate my 65th
birthday on February 1st and Kianna (my youngest granddaughters)
2nd birthday. My husband, daughter, son-in-law and three
grandchildren (Kiara, Nathan & Kianna) have so enjoyed
your beautiful home! I'm enjoying the quiet solitude where I
wrote a letter to my 12 year old granddaughter, Kiara, while
gazing at the majestic mountains in their muted, dormant stage.
The children woke up the first morning to an icy wonderland and
were so excited. They don't see much ice in Florida!
We enjoyed visiting Chimney Rock, hiking and riding the elevator
there. The children went snow tubing at Moonshine Mountain,
which was great fun. I enjoyed going to the authentic, down
home bluegrass coffee house, "Old Fort Mt. Music" in Old Fort.
We all danced there including Kianna, who really enjoyed it, as
did Nathan. We enjoyed driving through the beautiful
countryside, visiting the Folk Art Center and going to the "Fiddlin
Pig" to eat and hear Bluegrass. We also enjoyed visiting and
staying together in your beautiful home! Than you so much!"

"What a marvelous treat your
Mountain Majesty was for our family. We prayed for the perfect
spot for my mom's 65th birthday celebration get-a-way. She
works so hard helping others and so deserves a rest. As we
drove up and entered your home, everyone was delighted, it was
definitely the perfect present!! We awoke on February 1st (her
actual birthday) to a land filled with ice. The trees were so
beautiful and as we explored the winter paradise, the mountains
began to appear through the clouds. Since we live in Florida,
the children were beyond excited to see the ice. We also went
on a road trip to Hendersonville to experience snow tubing. We
had planned to take road trips everyday, but it was so beautiful
here that we stayed a few days just to enjoy the serenity of the
mountains. We danced to Bluegrass Music and played many of
your games. We found out that our pop is quite a "pool
shark". We had great fun counting your roosters. After days
of discovering hens in secret hidden places, our final count was
277 roosters. North Carolina is definitely our new favorite
state to visit. There are so many wonderful places to visit.
We will be back and we will tell all our friends about The
Mountain Majesty!! Thank you for your beautiful decorating and
thoughtfulness in every detail. Our two year old daughter
especially loved the singing bear that was her height. Every
night she would go over and say "Good night Grandma, Good night
Grandpa" to your figures by the stairs. We loved the family

wake up to. We arrived late last night -- when the sun rose

"We are
just back to Bradenton from our vacation in NC. I had
to write and attach a few photos and let you know how
much we appreciated our time at your beautiful cabin. I
traveled with my 11 year old daughter and my parents
from Florida and we met my cousin, her husband, their 2
year old and my aunt from Nashville, TN. The 8 of us
were more than pleased with the accommodations. Your
cabin is just beautiful and very well equipped. My dad
and his sister celebrated their birthdays the week we
were there.
My dad
bought a hummingbird feeder during one of our day
trips. He set it up on one of the posts out on the
porch. He was just tickled to see so many hummingbirds
come to feed. After just 24 hours, so many hummingbirds
came to feed that the feeder was emptied!
This was
definitely one of our best vacations ever. We took in
Chimney Rock, a boat trip on Lake Lure, Hendersonville,
Waynesville, Hickory, the blue grass at the Depot in
Marion, and Whitewater Rafting on the Nanatahala River.
We made many new family memories based around your
lovely cabin. Thank you again for opening your vacation

"The Mountain Majesty
exceeds its online description. It is very clean, and
very well appointed. The kitchen has all stainless
steel appliances, granite countertops, all the utensils
you could use (and I do love to cook!), lovely
dishware. The four generous decks - including the main
floor wrap-around deck offer panoramic views of the
mountain ranges. Every day the view is different. The
bedrooms have wonderfully comfortable beds and are
beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are plentiful and
well appointed. Game room lived up to its description.
It was great to have laundry facilities in the house,
and everything is brand new. The owners provided
prompt, thorough and accurate information and were
pleasant to deal with. Favorite attractions included
Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Asheville. Most attractions
take an hour or more to reach. The drives are lovely,
however. Within a fifteen minute drive are
grocery stores,
Wal-Mart, Lowes, the hospital. The
gated community is still under construction. Not
many houses are occupied, so you are isolated. All in
all, it was a lovely week, and the only differences
between the online description and pictures of The
Mountain Majesty were that the actual cabin surpassed

John & Barbara - What a wonderful relaxing oasis nestled on the
mountain-top overlooking some of the most beautiful country
& mountain ranges. We so much enjoyed your beautiful mountain home
during the middle week of October. The leaves were changing into
the most brilliant, vibrant colors. We made careful study of the
free-range wildlife and especially enjoyed the wild turkeys in their
natural habitat. Thank you for supplying us with the initial bag of
corn that we immediately spread under the Bambi Tree, waiting for
the deer to come feast. Your mountain home has it all. My extended
family consisted of eight, each couple having our own bedrooms AND
bath. We enjoyed and took advantage of it all. On the base floor
we enjoyed what is has to offer including playing pool and
Foosball. We opened the closet to find your vast collection of
videos and games. I don't think I have seen such a complete
collection anywhere but a game store. The main floor is where we
spent most of our time enjoying the large, flat screen TV, while
making cozy with the warmth of the fireplace, the magnificent
kitchen with ALL the comforts of home including granite counter
tops, wonderful easy to use stainless steel appliances and fully
equipped service ware down to the much used cork screw. We shared
all our meals around your spacious dining table. The upper floor,
consisting of two bedrooms, bath and a very comfortable
loft was enjoyed by all of us. The loft area is especially well
appointed and is where we utilized the "wire-less" Internet and so
enjoyed the albums and pictures & comments of past visitors. All
three floors had marvelous decks each with a different view of the
beautiful mountain side. We took the liberty of setting-up all
eight, very comfortable wooden rockers on the main porch looking out
on the magnificent mountain ranges. We ALL wish to Thank you for
the use of your MOUNTAIN MAJESTY. All of us would highly recommend
this retreat for anyone who is looking for that very special place
to relax, unwind yet be able to tour & visit the many, many places
of interest, all within an easy drive from your Mountain Home

-- We really loved our stay here in the mountains. Your
mountain home is a true treasure. I am sitting at the
desk on the top floor enjoying the beautiful,
breathtaking view which unfolds in front of me :) WOW!
We don't wannna leave. This is a top spot. We love
your deck on the main floor where you can sit very
comfortably. Your rocking chair in the living room on
main floor is great! Oh, and we had a fun time in the
basement playing billiards and foosball watching Dirty
Dancing, talking about memories when we learnt how to
dance during high school. We come from Germany but
lived in Portland, Oregon for 3 years before we moved to
Charlotte, NC in January 2009. My parents stayed with
us here at The Mountain Majesty, visiting from
Germany. They loved it and our kids (Yara 4 years, Lea
21 months) loved it too! They enjoyed playing with the
toy animals upstairs. It would have been more relaxing
to have a gate installed upstairs at the stairs on top
of the stairs. We will move back to Germany probably
next year so we won't be able to come here next fall to
see the really bright foliage colors which we missed
this year. But still it is/was a WONDERFUL RELAXING
stay at your house. So quiet and remote. And the
wooden smell, the wooden colors inside the house ...

John & Barb -- What a
wonderful time in a beautiful cabin home in the
mountains. We enjoyed every bit of it, especially
since it was our first "White Christmas" in 15 years.
We were blessed with 8 inches of snow upon arrival which
made for good sledding, skiing or jut walking through
and making snow angels. Thank you so much for sharing

Barb & John: Your lovely
mountain home has provided a wonderful place for us, our
children, and their families to spend the week between
Christmas and New Year's relaxing. The house is so
well equipped and comfortable, the views are
magnificent, and we enjoyed the area around here. We
went to Asheville one day and toured the Biltmore and
saw the gingerbread display at the Grove Park Inn.

& John -- We leave today and though it is always
nice to go home, it's even more wonderful to
have made great memories. There aren't many
times my two sisters and I can take a vacation
together and this was a perfect place to just
enjoy each others company. The kids had a
wonderful time exploring around the property,
they saw deer, rabbits, wild turkeys and two
huge hawks. Last night my son asked why the
mountains hadd so many more stars than Orlando.
We had a chance to go snow tubing, see Linville
Falls, Biltmore and Chimney Rock, but for me the
best time was watching the kids just play.
Thanks for sharing your home with us, we hope
you make many wonderful memories here for years
to come! We plan to be back soon and hope to
stay with you again. I will forward pics. We
had so much fun here. The view was great. We
went hiking. We had the best time! Thank you

Hello Barbara & John - We just left The
Mountain Majesty and the only problem we had is
that we didn't want to leave!! We thoroughly
enjoyed your cabin/mountain mansion; much more
so than I even dreamed. Each day we went on
hikes to local waterfalls, and one day we took a
hot air balloon ride near Asheville. Each
evening we spent reading on the porches, or in
the loft, or in our bedrooms. The televisions
were nice for the Duke game (Yeah Duke!), but
completely unnecessary in the mountain mansion.
In short, we loved it and highly recommend your
Mountain Majesty to any family who wants a
relaxing, outdoor-filled vacation. Rick Doremus

Dear Barbara & John -- Our family truly
enjoyed our time spent at "The Mountain Majesty"
-- the name is fitting. What a wonderful escape
it was from the Atlanta suburbs, both in pace of
life and in scenery. Your home was immaculate
and blessed us with such beautiful views of the
sun setting over the mountains. Each day we
planned a different excursion, with our
favorites being a hike to Tom's Creek Falls and
a trip up in a hot air balloon (Asheville
Balloon Company). We are already planning when

Dear Barbara and John -- SHEER PERFECTION --
that is how we describe the two weeks we have
spent at your mountain chalet. It was the most
wonderful vacation we have taken in years. We
adored the majestic sunsets which we admired
from your deck each evening.
A special thank you for the spring bouquet of
flowers and the anniversary card which surprised
us upon our arrival. We can tell that you are
both caring and warm individuals. You knew how
much we needed this holiday and a stress-free
couple of weeks in which to celebrate our 25th
wedding anniversary. It was a glorious respite
from the real world and we do intend to return,
hopefully in the fall.
We celebrated our anniversary at "The Water
Oak Restaurant" in Rutherfordton. We highly
recommend this romantic eatery which has a
terrific and original menu. Thank you for
recommending the "Wine Ruels" restaurant in
downtown Marion. It was also a favorite.
We enjoyed re-visiting the Biltmore House
after an absence of many years. The museum's
audio tour of 56 rooms (!) is wonderful! Another
day we took the historic tour of Asheville.
Most especially, we enjoyed our fly-fishing
lesson in Spruce Pine. The employees at the
"Rivers Edge Outfitters" shop are so
knowledgeable and offer easy and great lessons
on the North Toe River. We also fished at Curtis
Creek (near Old Fort), the North Fork River
(near Lake James), the Linville River, and at
Wilson's Creek Gorge (near Morganton). What a
wild and wonderful location Wilson's Creek is!
Our other excursions included Tom's Creek
Falls, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Park, a tour of
the historic Carson House in Marion, Lake James,
and hiking up to see Linville Falls.
Mike enjoyed golfing at the Mt. Mitchell Golf
Course.
We finally saw a deer this morning and it was
a special treat. We bought you a couple of salt
licks and put them in your backyard so the deer
should continue to visit. We also re-filled your
hummingbird feeder and we have enjoyed seeing
those quick and colorful birds.
Your "Majestic Mountain" home has given us
peace, happiness, beauty, adventure and memories
which we will forever cherish!

time over Memorial Day weekend. Whiel we were
here we visited the Biltmore and Chimney Rock

It was a great week! Had a
few afternoon showers but
short-lived and welcomed!
Your home is spacious,
comfortable, well-equipped,
was easy to find. None of
us had any trouble. The
sunset from the deck was our
favorite spot after the busy
days.
We all went to the Falls
Thurs a.m. It was an easy
walk and we had it all to
ourselves for quite a while,
then folks started coming.
The boys (15 and 17) swam in
the pool at bottom of
Falls. Amy, too, but only
because she slipped on a
rock! We missed getting
that picture. Thanks for
telling us about them. I
have shared their proximity
with friends who want to go,
who like us had never heard
of them., Then that
afternoon they (Jack and I
opted out) went to Linville
Falls. There the boys
really got in some good
swimming. We went to Mt.
Mitchell one day, Asheville,
and Friday to Lake James.
Jack and I also went to
Billy Graham's The Cove for
a tour of the beautiful
Chapel. All in all, we saw
a lot and always had The
Mountain Majesty to come
"home" to.
An extra attraction of
interest for us - on the
square ledge in center of
porch where porch light is
attached was a bird nest
with three babies. We could
watch their progress through
the kitchen window. I also
got closeups of them when
the mother was not around.
By the end of the week they
were almost ready to leave
the nest. We were afraid
they would be injured if she
nudged them out onto the
hard floor! Guess mama
birds know what to do!
Thanks - we are so glad you
are online and we located
your site. We made some
good memories. Your
downstairs was perfect for
the two teen-agers.
We called it their Cave,
where they played and
watched movies. We all
watched some movies.
